A powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake has struck Flores Island, Indonesia — killing at least 68 people and injuring more than 200 more, with the toll still climbing.
Days on, thousands of residents remain cut off, waiting for aid to reach communities blocked by landslides and damaged roads. Hundreds of homes and buildings have been destroyed or damaged across the island.
Thousands of displaced families are now sleeping outside or crowded into emergency shelters, many too afraid of aftershocks to return home, with nothing: no belongings, no food, no electricity.
With hundreds of aftershocks continuing to shake the island and needs growing by the hour, the situation is rapidly deteriorating. Without immediate support:
- Families will remain without shelter as the search for survivors continues
- Access to food, clean water, and medical care will worsen
- Lives will be at risk
