URGENT EARTHQUAKE APPEAL: MYANMAR IN CRISIS
A devastating earthquake has struck Myanmar, leaving thousands in desperate need.
On March 28, 2025, a powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar, causing widespread destruction across the Sagaing Region and Mandalay. Buildings have collapsed, infrastructure has been severely damaged, and countless families have been left homeless.
As of March 29, 2025, the death toll has risen to 1,002, with 2,376 individuals injured. The majority of fatalities have been reported in the Mandalay region, which is near the earthquake's epicenter.
Rescue operations are ongoing, and authorities fear that the number of casualties may increase as more bodies are recovered from the rubble.

The earthquake has caused significant damage to critical infrastructure, including the collapse of hospitals, mosques, and hotels, trapping individuals inside.
In the aftermath, survivors are in urgent need of food, clean water, and shelter. We're closely monitoring the situation in coordination with local partners. MAA is preparing a response to deliver life-saving assistance which may include:
