    Six Months After the Earthquake

    The Struggle in Turkey and Syria

    The path to recovery is a long and arduous one. Many have been left with nothing, their homes and possessions reduced to rubble. The immediate needs for permanent shelters, food, clean water, and improved hygiene conditions remain critical. In the long term, many families face the prospect of living in temporary container settlements for the next two years.

    Six months have passed since the devastating Turkey Earthquake and Syria Earthquake struck, claiming the lives of over 55,000 people and injuring more than 100,000. The immediate physical danger may have subsided, but the aftershocks continue to be felt by the 15 million people affected. The 

    The emotional toll is equally heavy. The sight of debris serves as a constant reminder of the tragedy, and many are still haunted by the loss of loved ones, unable to find closure.

    MAA's Ongoing Support

    Since the earthquakes, MAA's dedicated teams have been at the forefront of the relief efforts, working tirelessly alongside local teams to provide essential support to those affected.

    Thanks to the unwavering efforts of our teams and the generous contributions of MAA supporters, we have been able to assist thousands of families who have lost everything. In the six months since the earthquakes, we have provided:
     

    • 1,000 Baby Packs

    • 5,000 Blankets

    • 18,000 Food Packs

    • 130,000 kg of Fuel

    • 8,500 Hygiene Packs

    • 200 Tents

    • 58,000 Meals


    Our work is far from over. We are committed to helping families rebuild their lives. Over the next few months, we will be delivering approximately fully furnished 2-bedroom container homes and ensuring that families receive the urgent food and hygiene supplies they need.
