The UN estimates that 60% of deaths in Yemen between 2015 and 2022 were caused by man-made famine and lack of accessible health services.
Did you know 21.6 million Yemenis are relying on our Ummah for support, but why?
Sign up to our Grocery Support Program and bring hunger relief and nutrition to families in need. Every month, you’ll be helping the same family, and will also be sent a photo of the distribution.
At the centre of this crisis is the 2015 naval blockade implemented by Saudi-Arabia, which blocks all imports into Yemen, allowing only a small percentage in. In 2023, the blockade caused a child to die every 15 minutes, and restrictions have only worsened.
However, 90% of Yemen’s food supply is imported, so this blockade, amidst economic sanctions has caused starvation of civilian populations, pushing 21.6 million people into a man-made famine.
Saudi’s restrictions on fuel imports in particular are a key driver of the economic crisis, making basic needs unaffordable. In November 2021, Saudi allowed only 3% of the fuel Yemen needs each month.
Yemenis with chronic health issues, such as cancer, have needlessly suffered and died waiting for potentially life-saving medical evacuations and medicine. 60% of all cancer patients die every year waiting for treatment that cannot be provided.
are food insecure
are malnourished
require urgent aid
Alhamdulillah, our team has been serving on the ground in Yemen for over a decade, but our efforts go beyond immediate relief.
When we source aid, we prioritise purchasing products and materials from local Yemeni merchants. This approach ensures your generosity provides urgent support while also fostering long-term economic growth by relocalising and strengthening the local economy.
Your donations don’t just meet immediate needs—they empower Yemeni merchants and businesses, paving the way toward self-sufficiency. Together, we’re building a future where Yemen no longer relies on charity, but thrives independently, insha’Allah.
Distribution of food packs, fresh produce, and hot meals to those in dire need.
We support clinics and hospitals, ensuring that the injured and sick receive essential treatment.
Through restoring destroyed water sources, we can expand access to water and prevent common, widespread diseases.
