Palestine Emergency

Gaza, Palestine, has been a focal point of humanitarian strife for years. Home to over two million people within its 362 square kilometres, its dense population grapples daily with challenges intensified by geographic isolation, scarce resources, and an unstable economy.

Report:

Our Work in Gaza

This report sheds light on our efforts over the past 6 months. We pray that we’ve fulfilled your amanah, making a critical difference to the lives of the people in Gaza, and we look forward to continuing to serve until a permanent ceasefire is reached and Gaza begins to rebuild inshaAllah.

“Every day we dig through rubble with no equipment, hoping someone is still alive underneath. But there’s no fuel for the machines. No medicine in the clinics. We’re watching people die because we’re being blocked from helping.”
— Emergency responder, Gaza

“We are exhausted. We are barely sleeping. We carry the dead with our bare hands, and we keep going because the people need us.”
— Palestinian aid worker, Gaza

Israel is Starving Gaza deliberately, systemically, cruelly

Israel is deliberately starving over 2.1 million people in Gaza.

It is blocking food. Poisoning water. Bombing hospitals. And now, Israel has escalated airstrikes again. Homes, shelters, and displacement camps are under direct attack. In just a few hours, Israeli forces killed more than 200 people and injured hundreds more. Most of the victims are women and children.

Gaza Hospital, 2024Destruction in Gaza, 2024

Israel has wiped out entire communities in Rafah, Khan Younis, and Gaza City. It is targeting aid distribution points. It is killing healthcare workers. There is no safety. No ceasefire. No protection for civilians.

Famine is no longer a threat. It is here.

In a statement, 111 organisations — including Mercy Corps, the Norwegian Refugee Council, and Refugees International — said that “mass starvation” is spreading, even as tonnes of food, clean water, and medical supplies sit untouched just outside Gaza, blocked from entering.

For months, Israel has obstructed nearly all humanitarian aid. It has destroyed farmland, bombed bakeries, and cut off supply routes. It has targeted civilians with the intent to starve, displace, and destroy.

Human Rights Watch calls it what it is: collective punishment.
And it is happening in real time.

What Are We Doing?

Despite the siege, Alhamdulillah, our teams on the ground inside Gaza are still delivering:

  • 150,000 litres of clean water daily
  • 1,000 to 2,000 cooked vegetarian meals daily
  • Fresh vegetable packs with whatever we can source
  • 25,000 blood bags for collapsing hospitals

All of this is sourced and distributed from within Gaza. We rely on long-standing partnerships and local teams who are navigating extreme risks and skyrocketing prices.

What Can You Do?

Now more than ever, the people of Gaza need their Ummah. This is not just a crisis, it’s a crime – but your urgent support can keep someone alive.

 So don’t wait, DONATE today.

Note: At MAA, we believe we have a duty to fight injustice at every level, big and small. It’s not enough to give aid to the most vulnerable and marginalised after harm has befallen them; we must stand up for them and empower their voices. To fulfil our collective obligation, MAA may dedicate a portion of your sadaqah donations to this cause to create change and dismantle the forces that harm the most marginalised.

Team MAA dispatched a massive convoy of ten trucks to Gaza, full of winter essentials, family food packs, and hygiene kits. Currently, these trucks are on their way to those most in need in Gaza, and we expect the goods to be distributed in sha Allah within the next week or two. Several truckloads of these goods entered Gaza and the aid was distributed to those most in need, in coordination with the Palestine Red Crescent and Ministry of Health, Gaza.
