Gaza Water Well

Collection Meter

For nearly two years, Gaza’s water infrastructure has been deliberately targeted and destroyed. Israel’s ongoing blockade and bombardment have left the amount of water available dangerously low, far below what is needed for survival.

9 out of every 10 requests for water treatment items have been denied, leaving desalination plants barely functioning. With 86% of Gaza under forced displacement orders, water trucks cannot reliably reach families and even when they do, there is often no safe way to store the limited water delivered.

The consequences are devastating. Medical teams are treating 1,000+ cases of acute diarrhea every week, alongside outbreaks of scabies and other skin diseases. Hospitals are running on minimal water, making it harder to treat the wounded, prevent infection, and keep patients hydrated enough to survive.

What MAA is Delivering

Alhamdulillah, MAA has the opportunity to build a semi-deep water well at an UNRWA school.
This will allow:

  • Production of 10,000 litres of clean water every hour
  • Enough to supply thousands of people every day

Right now, Gaza’s people urgently need a safe, reliable, and local source of water, one that does not depend on trucks as this creates uncertainty of when they will receive water.

The Impact and How We Get There

For the next 7 days, we are rallying 350 people to give $100 each.
That’s:

  • 1 fully funded water well providing 10,000 litres/hour
  • Thousands of people served every single day
  • One community transformed with access to clean, safe water

Will you be 1 of the 350 people to help?

Frequently Asked Questions

Is aid really getting into Gaza?

Unfortunately, no. Like most charities, we are unable to bring aid directly into Gaza through the borders. Since March 2025, the borders have been shut, and what little aid does enter is controlled by a US-Israeli managed company — part of a strategy that weaponises aid and limits access for Palestinians.

We work with long-standing, trusted partners who are based inside Gaza. Through these local networks, our partners are sourcing essential supplies such as vegetables, beans, wheat, lentils, clean water, and materials for basic health supplies. While meat is no longer available due to the blockade, these supplies allow us to provide critical daily nourishment.

Every day, we are distributing 1,000–2,000 hot meals and over 150,000 litres of fresh water to families across Gaza.

Our teams on the ground are delivering food and water across North, Central, and South Gaza, wherever access allows and need is greatest. For the safety of our staff, we operate in the “safer” areas of each location. Some of our staff members have been killed by Israel.

As long as our partners are able to access local supplies and safely distribute aid, we will continue delivering food and water every single day. But the situation is worsening. Gaza is facing a Stage-5 famine, and we urgently need support as we continue and scale our response.

Your donations directly fund daily distributions of food and water in Gaza. With soaring prices and growing need, every dollar counts.

Note: At MAA, we believe we have a duty to fight injustice at every level, big and small. It’s not enough to give aid to the most vulnerable and marginalised after harm has befallen them; we must stand up for them and empower their voices. To fulfil our collective obligation, MAA may dedicate a portion of your sadaqah donations to this cause to create change and dismantle the forces that harm the most marginalised.
