Advocacy Impact By the Numbers
Beyond The Headlines
Beyond the headlines, there are millions of families fighting to survive each day.
At Muslim Aid Australia, we do not believe the only crises worth supporting are the ones that dominate news cycles or public attention.
In Sudan, millions of families — many of them widows and orphans — have been displaced internally and across neighbouring borders by years of war, violence, and famine, forced to move from one refugee camp to another in search of safety.
The Rohingya continue to live through statelessness, displacement, and ongoing persecution, with generations growing up knowing nothing but life inside refugee camps.
Uyghur families remain separated, surveilled, and subjected to forced “re-education”, while those who have managed to flee continue navigating the uncertainty and isolation.
And in the West Bank of Palestine, Palestinian families face escalating displacement, restriction, and insecurity while living under the realities of occupation and settler violence.
Media attention should never determine which human suffering matters. Advocacy requires sustained pressure, collective action, political education, and a commitment to long-term structural change.
At Muslim Aid Australia, we carry this amanah by advocating alongside oppressed and silenced communities, amplifying their voices, and responding to their needs with both action and solidarity.

Israel’s assault on Lebanon proves the falsehood of ‘international law’
The same tactics that shattered Gaza, including siege conditions, mass displacement and widespread attacks on civilian infrastructure, now risk being replicated across the region. These are not isolated incidents but part of a broader strategy that threatens to normalise the use of bombardment, displacement, and occupation against an independent state. Support Advocacy
Our advocacy efforts complement and strengthen our humanitarian work. By amplifying the voices of the oppressed, challenging unjust policies, and pushing for solutions to the root causes, we can create a world where the need for emergency relief is significantly diminished.

Local Media Impact
We kept Gaza in the spotlight during Ramadan, forsaking multiple fundraising opportunities to raise awareness instead. This included signage and other physical marketing distributed in densely populated Sydney suburbs.
