    Somalia Drought Crisis

Severe drought and conflct have affected Somalia, resulting in 6.6 million people facing high levels of acute food insecurity. And, with the global food prices sharply increasing since mid-2021, many families struggle to access basic necessities.

The recent Gu season in Somalia started with promising rainfall, partially replenishing pasture and water in many parts of the country. However, the risk of riverine and flash floods remains high, leading to further displacement and damage.

MAA's drought relief efforts aim to mitigate the impact of extreme weather conditions, helping communities build resilience against future droughts.

    Health Care for Somalia

With an estimated 1.8 million acutely malnourished children, including 477,700 projected to be severely malnourished, MAA's health care initiatives are crucial in addressing malnutrition in Somalia. Our dedicated teams provide essential medical support, including nutrition, health, and education programs, to help families affected by malnutrition and related health issues.

    Support for Internally Displaced Families

MAA is dedicated to providing support for internally displaced families in Somalia, many of whom have been affected by ongoing conflict, famine, and drought. Our efforts include providing shelter, clean water, and other essential services to help these families rebuild their lives.

Zakat, Sadaqa, and Welfare for Somalia

Your generous donations, including Zakat and Sadaqah, make a significant impact in the lives of those affected by the crisis in Somalia and East Africa. Your contributions support MAA's efforts to provide food, health care, shelter, and education to families in need.
