    Food Insecurity in Africa

Food insecurity and malnutrition are urgent challenges faced by millions of people across Africa. For just $60, you can provide a month's worth of nutritious food packs to families in Madagascar, Somalia, Mozambique, Burkina Faso, Chad, Malawi, Niger, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Uganda, who desperately need your support. By joining our Food for Africa campaign, you can make a real difference in the lives of those facing hunger and malnutrition.

    The Crisis of Food Insecurity

From the island nation of Madagascar to the landlocked countries of Chad and Niger, food insecurity continues to affect vulnerable communities, leaving millions without reliable access to enough nutritious food. In Antananarivo, Madagascar's capital, approximately 70% of households struggle to meet their basic needs, including access to sufficient and nutritious food.

Somalia faces a catastrophic food crisis, with an impending famine exacerbated by drought and conflict. Burkina Faso and Chad both endure severe food shortages due to factors such as climate change, conflict, and displacement. The situation is similar in Niger, which is currently facing the worst food security crisis of this decade, with 4.4 million people in immediate need of assistance.

In Mozambique, the province of Inhambane sees more than 40% of households suffering from moderate to severe food insecurity, particularly affecting vulnerable groups. Blantyre, Malawi's commercial capital, has a poverty rate of over 60%, and more than half of the population is food insecure. In Nigeria, a rapidly growing number of people are living in extreme poverty, and the country has one of the highest rates of food insecurity in Africa.

Uganda faces a severe food insecurity challenge, with an estimated 6 million people experiencing hunger and malnutrition, particularly in the Karamoja region.
