Sudan is in the third year of a nationwide civil war between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), with other armed groups active in Darfur, Kordofan and Blue Nile.
It is widely described by the UN and major agencies as one of the worst and largest displacement and hunger crises in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Urgency & Need:<\/strong> Sudan is now experiencing one of the worst humanitarian crisis in the world: more than 14 million people displaced, over 30 million in need of help. Violence, hunger and disease are converging in Sudan. Families are trapped between gunfire and starvation.
At this very moment, mothers are skipping meals so their children can have one. Schools are shut. Hospitals are out of service, and the internal violence is substantially escalating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This makes Sudan both the world\u2019s largest internal displacement crisis and one of the largest regional refugee crises in Africa, placing immense strain on neighbouring countries and already overstretched humanitarian systems<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
