Aiding<\/strong> The Most Vulnerable<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In Sri Lanka, as the healthcare system struggles with severe shortages of essential supplies, those with disabilities are finding it increasingly difficult to access the care and support they need. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scarcity of medical equipment, coupled with widespread poverty, has forced many to resort to desperate measures, some elderly individuals are even using broomsticks as makeshift walking sticks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the heartbreaking reality for many and underscores the urgent need for support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Crisis in Sri Lanka<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Sri Lanka is facing a severe economic crisis, leaving millions in desperate need of food, fuel, and medical supplies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the United Nations, nearly 5.7 million people urgently require humanitarian assistance, with 1.7 million at the highest risk. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The economic turmoil has crippled the healthcare system, causing severe shortages of essential supplies and limiting access to proper care. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our immediate action and external aid are critical to stabilise the healthcare system and provide relief to the most vulnerable, the elderly and disabled.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the Sunnah <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As one of the sacred months mentioned in the Qur\u2019an, Muharram is a time to renew our intentions and increase in our worship. But it is also a time to reflect on the legacy left by the Prophet \ufdfa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He \ufdfa said, \u201cIt is out of reverence to Allah to respect the white-headed (aged) Muslim.\u201d<\/em> (Abu Dawud) and \u201cHe is not one of us who does not show mercy to our young ones and esteem to our elderly.\u201d<\/em> (At-Tirmidhi).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From this, we know we must<\/strong> support the most vulnerable in our community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
